The Merchant Experience team builds the super app, web and backend systems for merchants making it easy and stress-free for them to run and grow their business.

We win merchant loyalty by enabling them with easier & more reliable tools to serve their customers better & run their business more efficiently. We collaborate with other Grab businesses & teams (like Food, Pay, Ads, etc.) to build merchant centric solutions that also help grow Grab’s business in Southeast Asia.

  • Be part of the Merchant Experience team, helping to drive forward innovative product solutions that are part of Grab’s Merchant app and portal.
  • We’re a team of creative, data-driven and strategic web, mobile and backend engineers, in the service of shaping the Grab brand into a loveable powerhouse in SE Asia.
  • We deliver services that are relevant to our merchants’ daily lives with a huge impact. Billions of transactions run through our systems, millions use our apps, web sites and backend services and build their businesses with it – help us build it!

The Senior Web Engineer, Merchant Experience At Grab Indonesia day-to-day activities:

  • Build and deploy performant modern web applications in ReactJS and AngularJS
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
  • Write unit, functional and end-to-end tests
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define and prototype feature requirements, review the requirements, provide feedback and contribute to project planning activities
  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and performing root cause analysis investigations
  • Design, build, analyze and fix large-scale systems. Work with engineering team to explore and create new design / architectures geared towards scale and performance
  • Debug and modify complex production software

The Senior Web Engineer, Merchant Experience At Grab Indonesia must haves:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related fields
  • 3+ years experience in web engineering
  • Familiarity with running large scale web services
  • Familiarity with the whole web stack, web protocols, and web performance optimisation techniques
  • Detailed knowledge of minimum one modern JavaScript framework: React, Angular, etc
  • Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills, able to think critically of the current system in terms of growth and stability
  • Proficient understanding of the HTTP protocol
  • Experience with Git

Senior Web Engineer, Merchant Experience At Grab Indonesia Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Redux/Flow
  • Experience with at least one CSS preprocessor: Sass, Less, PostCSS, Stylus, etc

Non-technical requirements

  • Great communication skills in English
